Rahul Gandhi Criticizes Prime Minister Modi’s Influence on Youth

In a recent address during the Congress’s Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra in Shajapur, Madhya Pradesh, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi for misleading the youth of India. Gandhi accused Modi of encouraging the younger generation to be overly reliant on their mobile devices while chanting “Jai Shri Ram,” to the detriment of their well-being and economic prospects. He highlighted the contrast between Indian youths consuming digital content and Chinese youths manufacturing mobile devices, expressing his desire for a shift in this dynamic towards Indian technological self-sufficiency.

Gandhi also raised concerns over social injustice within the country’s institutions, alleging that despite making up 90% of the population, backward, Dalit, and other minority groups rarely hold key positions. His comments were met with resistance from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), which accused Gandhi of showcasing an “anti-Hindu mindset.” Senior BJP leader Ravi Shankar Prasad defended the chanting of “Jai Shri Ram” and criticized Gandhi’s stance.

The Congress leader’s remarks during the yatra led to a confrontational exchange when BJP workers chanting “Modi-Modi” interrupted the procession. Gandhi engaged with the protesters, humorously responding to a challenge involving turning potatoes into gold, highlighting the tense political atmosphere surrounding the yatra.
