Rajinikanth praises Madhavan’s Rocketry: ‘I thank him for giving us such a film’

On Monday, the superstar Rajinikanth praised Madhavan’s first film as a director, Rocketry: The Nambi Effect. He praised Madhavan for giving a “lived-in” portrayal and suggested that everyone should watch the film.

“Everyone should watch Rocketry, especially the youngsters. To develop the space research program of our country, Padma Bhushan Nambi Narayanan had made many sacrifices and faced a lot of struggles. Madhavan has made a biopic movie of his life. He has delivered a very lived-in performance and in his very first film, he has proved that he is on par with other great filmmakers. I thank him for giving us such a film. Congratulations,” said Rajinikanth in a statement posted on his Twitter page.

Nambi Narayanan, an outstanding scientist of ISRO, is profiled in the book Rocketry. He is wrongfully charged with spying, nevertheless, and for more than 20 years he was put on trial in the courts, in the media, and in public. Finally exonerated of all allegations in the case, he was then given India’s third-highest civilian honour, the Padma Bhushan.

Nambi Narayanan’s troubles and humiliation after being accused of spying are also described in Rocketry. The movie also follows his early years and the rich offers he declined to advance the nation’s space programme.

Rocketry was written, directed, produced, and acted by Madhavan. He played Nambi Narayanan in the play. Suriya and Shah Rukh Khan also appear in the film in cameo roles.

However, the evaluations of Rocketry were not unanimous. Furthermore, it got off to a sluggish start at the box office. The industry is certain that the movie will gain popularity as a result of positive audience word-of-mouth.
