Sachin Waze Submits Evidence in ₹100 Crore Extortion Case to Maharashtra Deputy CM

Mumbai’s dismissed police officer Sachin Waze has handed over evidence related to the ₹100 crore extortion case, implicating former State Home Minister Anil Deshmukh, to Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. Waze claimed that the evidence, which includes financial transactions through Deshmukh’s assistant, has been detailed in a letter he sent to Fadnavis. He also mentioned that he is prepared for a Narco test to substantiate his claims further.

The extortion case against Deshmukh involves accusations that during his tenure as Home Minister, he instructed police officers to collect ₹100 crore per month from bar owners. Deshmukh was arrested by the ED in 2021 but was later granted bail. The case has also intertwined with other legal controversies, including the Antilia bomb scare and the Mansukh Hiren murder case, for which Sachin Waze is a primary suspect.

In response to Waze’s allegations, Anil Deshmukh has accused Fadnavis of trying to coerce him into making false affidavits against political rivals, including Uddhav Thackeray and Aaditya Thackeray. Deshmukh criticized Waze’s credibility, citing a Bombay High Court judgment that deems Waze as unreliable due to his criminal background and ongoing legal troubles.
