Sanjay Singh Appointed Chairperson of AAP Parliamentary Party Amidst Kejriwal’s Legal Troubles

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has appointed senior leader and Rajya Sabha member Sanjay Singh as the chairperson of the AAP Parliamentary Party. Singh, who has been with AAP since its inception in 2012, assumes this critical role as AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal remains in jail in connection with the excise policy case. As chairperson, Singh will coordinate the party’s parliamentary activities, implement legislative strategies, and maintain discipline among MPs.

Sanjay Singh, first elected to Rajya Sabha in 2018 and re-elected this year, has been a key figure in forging alliances and negotiating with other political parties to advance AAP’s legislative agenda. His new role involves acting as the primary liaison between AAP, other political parties, government officials, and parliamentary committees. Despite his recent legal challenges, including a money laundering case linked to the now-scrapped Delhi excise policy, Singh continues to assert his party’s resilience and determination.

During a recent Parliament session, Singh accused the NDA government of political vendetta, emphasizing that AAP would not bow down despite the legal pressures on its leaders. He stated, “Whatever you are doing with our chief minister, it would not benefit you. We will not bow down before you even if you cut us into 100 pieces.”
