Tamannaah Bhatia Summoned by Maharashtra Cyber Cell Over IPL Betting App Promotion
Actor Tamannaah Bhatia has been summoned by the Maharashtra cyber cell in connection with the promotion of the viewing of IPL matches on the Fairplay betting app, a subsidiary of the Mahadev online gaming platform. Bhatia, known for her roles in “Baahubali” and “Lust Stories 2”, is required to appear before the cyber personnel on April 29 to record her statement as a witness, according to a senior police official.
The inquiry stems from allegations that some of the IPL matches in 2023 were streamed illegally on the app. The Maharashtra cyber cell is actively investigating the Mahadev app over claims of illegal transactions and betting activities associated with the platform.
In related developments, the cyber cell has also recorded statements from singer Badshah, and the managers of Bollywood celebrities Sanjay Dutt and Jacqueline Fernandez as part of the ongoing investigation into the betting scandal.
