Theker Secures Record-Breaking $85 Million Series A Funding Round
Barcelona-based robotics start-up Theker has raised US$85 million (€73 million) in a landmark Series A funding round, setting a new record as the largest Series A investment in European robotics history. The funding round was led by venture capital firm CRV and attracted participation from global giants including Samsung, LVMH, Cathay Innovation, 20VC, Henkel Ventures, Korelya, and Bright Pixel Capital, along with existing investors such as Inditex, Kfund, Kibo Ventures, Mission, and several prominent entrepreneurs.
The company, which specializes in artificial intelligence solutions for robotics, said the fresh capital will be used to accelerate deployments with major industrial operators, strengthen its proprietary AI and robotics platform, and expand its workforce across software development, electronics, mechanical engineering, and operational functions. The investment follows another milestone achieved by the company less than a year ago when it secured the largest seed funding round ever raised by a Spanish start-up.
The funding round also marks several significant firsts for the investors involved. It represents one of CRV’s earliest investments in Spain, Samsung’s first investment in a Spanish company, and LVMH’s debut investment in a start-up within Spain’s innovation ecosystem. The deal underscores growing international confidence in Spain’s technology sector and highlights Theker’s rising influence in the rapidly evolving field of AI-powered robotics.
