UP Allocates ₹ 2,500 Crore In Budget For Maha Kumbh Mela 2025

The Maha Kumbh Mela preparation budget was set at 2,500 crore by the Uttar Pradesh government in contrast to 621.55 crore for the fiscal year 2022–23.

Every twelve years, the religious expo is held. Three access roads in Ayodhya will be widened and improved, according to a state government official, within the next two years.

“In anticipation of a potential increase in tourism brought on by the construction of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi temple in the district of Ayodhya, it is planned that work on widening and beautifying three access roads will be finished within the next two years,” Finance Minister Suresh Kumar Khanna said while presenting the budget.

“An arrangement of ₹ 50 crore as a grant for developing basic infrastructure facilities in religious and historically significant urban bodies of the state. A provision of ₹ 1,000 crore has been proposed for the development of roads related to religious relevance,” he said.

According to him, the budget has allocated Rs. 2,500 crore for the great Maha Kumbh Mela event in 2025 as opposed to Rs. 621.55 crore in the fiscal year 2022–2023.

In the Mirzapur district, Mr. Khanna added, work is also being done on the Maa Vindhyavasini Devi Temple, Maa Ashtabhuji Devi Temple, and Kali Khoh Temple.

He added that there has also been a suggestion for the creation of “Bhajan Sandhya Sthal” in the Prayagraj district and a vedic science study centre in Naimisharanya, a well-known “taposthali” (hot spot) in Sitapur.

As per him, Uttar Pradesh received more than 24 crore 87 lakh tourists in 2022, of which more than 4 lakh 10 thousand were foreigners.

According to him, work is also being done to improve and develop tourism in Ayodhya, Varanasi, Chitrakoot, Vindhyachal, Prayagraj, Naimisharanya, Gorakhpur, Mathura, Bateshwar Dham, and other significant tourist destinations.

To the finance minister, the 300 crore rupee development, refurbishment, and beautification project is being carried out under the chief government’s tourism promotion strategy.
