Yogi Adityanath Slams Rahul Gandhi Over Ayodhya Statements

In a fiery response to Rahul Gandhi’s recent remarks on Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath accused the Congress leader of attempting to defame both Uttar Pradesh and the sacred city of Ayodhya. Adityanath criticized Gandhi for allegedly making false claims during the Lok Sabha polls, particularly regarding compensation for people displaced during road widening in Ayodhya. He asserted that the state government had provided ₹1733 crore in compensation, directly contradicting Gandhi’s statements in Parliament.

Adityanath further accused Rahul Gandhi of misleading the public on constitutional matters and using foreign funds to influence elections. He pointedly referenced historical grievances, claiming that Gandhi and his allies had kept Ayodhya in obscurity for years and highlighting past incidents such as police action against karsevaks during the Mulayam Singh Yadav regime in 1990.

Regarding infrastructure development in Ayodhya, Adityanath emphasized that compensation had been provided for all land, house, and shop acquisitions related to projects such as the Ram Path, Bhakti Path, Janmabhoomi Path, and the Ayodhya airport. He detailed efforts to accommodate affected shop owners by constructing new shops in multilevel complexes, aiming to mitigate the impact of development initiatives on local businesses.

The exchange underscores ongoing political tensions over Ayodhya’s development and historical narratives, reflecting broader debates on governance and representation in Uttar Pradesh ahead of upcoming elections.
