Adani Group and Google Partner to Boost Clean Energy Supply in India

In a significant move towards sustainability, the Adani Group and Google have announced a strategic partnership to enhance the supply of clean energy across India. A major part of this collaboration involves the development of a solar-wind hybrid energy project at Khavda, Gujarat, within the world’s largest renewable energy plant. The project is expected to commence operations by mid-2025, supplying energy to India’s grid as part of the companies’ joint efforts.

The partnership aims to support both Adani’s expertise in large-scale renewable energy projects and Google’s “24/7 carbon-free energy” goal. By utilizing Adani’s proven capabilities in solar, wind, and hybrid energy, the collaboration seeks to deliver tailored renewable energy solutions to commercial and industrial sectors, aiding them in reducing their carbon footprint.

In addition to bolstering India’s clean energy infrastructure, the initiative will focus on decarbonizing industries, with an emphasis on increasing clean energy supply to the commercial and merchant segments. This effort will help Google ensure that its cloud services and operations in India are backed by renewable energy sources.
