Adly: Assistance to be provided to more than 200 veterans of the rural armed forces
In order to increase their salaries, over 200 veteran entrepreneurs from the Malaysian Armed Forces (MAF) have been discovered.
According to Adly Zahari, deputy minister of defence, the help would be provided to entrepreneurs in a variety of industries, including agriculture, and will be based on their requirements rather than necessarily being paid for with cash.
He visited some veterans in Kampung Sungai Baru, Bedong nearby today as part of the Peduli Veteran Programme, along with Veteran Affairs Department deputy director-general Sophian Isswandy Ismail. “There are about 22,000 entrepreneurs under the Ex-Servicemen Affairs Corporation (Perhebat),… and we have identified over 200 veterans in rural areas to receive aid,” he told reporters.
Additionally, Adly stated that the initiative will continue nationwide to care for veterans and make sure they received their allotted rewards.
“I hope we can improve services at the veteran affairs department to ensure their welfare and that of their families,” he added.
Adly had previously stopped by the Amal Afiat Sdn Bhd dialysis clinic nearby, where seven veterans were receiving care.
