Amit Shah Accuses Congress of Corruption Amidst IT Raids on MP; Congress Hits Back

Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s accusations of corruption against Congress, following Income Tax raids on MP Dheeraj Sahu, have triggered a heated exchange between the ruling party and the opposition. Shah claimed that Congress’s silence indicated their inherent nature of corruption, drawing ire from Congress MP Manickam Tagore.

Tagore dismissed Shah’s claims, stating that no corruption was involved, and emphasized Sahu’s status as a businessman, not a government official. He challenged the need for Sahu to be held accountable for his business dealings, highlighting the lack of similar actions against other politicians’ relatives, like Narendra Tomar’s son.

Shah, expressing surprise at the seized cash from an MP’s residence, criticized the opposition’s silence, attributing it to their alleged fear of corruption exposure. The ongoing Income Tax raids on Boudh Distilleries Private Limited, linked to Sahu, have led to the recovery of over ₹200 crore in cash from multiple locations in Odisha and Jharkhand.

In response to Shah’s accusations, Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Priyanka Chaturvedi defended Sahu, stating that supporting him didn’t equate to endorsing any alleged misconduct. Chaturvedi also hinted at a bias, suggesting that if Sahu were to join the BJP, he might be absolved of all charges. The political clash escalates as the IT raids persist, intensifying the rift between the ruling party and the opposition.
