Bollywood Producer Vashu Bhagnani Files ₹ 47.37 Crore Cheating Complaint Against Netflix India
Bollywood producer Vashu Bhagnani has lodged a police complaint accusing Netflix India of cheating him of ₹ 47.37 crore over film rights. The Mumbai Police’s Economic Offences Wing (EOW) has initiated an investigation into the matter. Bhagnani alleges that Netflix failed to pay the due amount for the rights to three of his Hindi films: Hero No 1, Mission Raniganj, and Bade Miyan Chote Miyan.
Bhagnani, who runs Pooja Entertainment, filed the complaint against Los Gatos Production Services India, Zoo Digital India, and several executives associated with both companies. He claims the outstanding payment was not settled despite agreements. The complaint alleges a breach of contract in connection with licensing his films to the OTT platform.
In response, Netflix India denied the allegations and claimed that the opposite was true. A spokesperson from the streaming giant stated that the claims are unfounded, asserting that it is Pooja Entertainment that owes Netflix money. Netflix confirmed its cooperation with authorities to resolve the dispute.
