Gap Teams Up with Sandy Liang for Nostalgic, Cross-Generational Collection
American retailer Gap has announced a new collaboration with New York-based designer Sandy Liang, set to launch on October 10. The limited-edition collection for women and children draws inspiration from “modern girlhood and self-expression,” blending Gap’s heritage and iconic styles with Liang’s signature feminine edge. Highlight pieces include bow-adorned denim, outerwear, and playful reinterpretations of the classic fleece, designed to appeal across generations.
Mark Breitbard, Gap’s president and CEO, emphasized the unique creative vision Liang brings to the collaboration, stating that her iconic perspective allows Gap’s heritage pieces to be reimagined in fresh, yet familiar ways. Liang herself described the project, titled “Sandy’s Dream Closet,” as a reflection of her childhood memories growing up with Gap, celebrating girlhood while honoring the brand’s timeless aesthetic.
The collection features denim staples such as pleated miniskirts and low-rise carpenter jeans, alongside vegan fur jackets, oversized hoodies, and reversible outerwear, with prices ranging from $15 to $268. Available both online and in select Gap stores in the U.S. and internationally—including the UK, Middle East, Japan, and the Philippines—the line also includes mini matchbacks for babies and toddlers, extending the nostalgic appeal across generations.
