Global Fashion Agenda and Visa Launch ‘Recycle the Runway’ to Empower Circular Fashion Entrepreneurs
Global Fashion Agenda (GFA) has partnered with Visa to introduce Visa Young Creators: Recycle the Runway, a new initiative designed to support emerging European designers championing circular fashion. The programme aims to accelerate the transition toward a more sustainable fashion industry by backing creative entrepreneurs who integrate resale, repair, rental, and redistribution into their business models. By spotlighting innovation in circularity, the initiative seeks to nurture businesses that are redefining how fashion is produced, consumed, and reused across Europe.
Under the programme, 15 winners will receive a combination of financial support, mentorship, and industry exposure. Ten selected designers will share a €50,000 funding pool, while four additional recipients will each receive €10,000, along with mentorship opportunities and an invitation to attend the Global Fashion Summit: Copenhagen Edition 2026, scheduled for 6–7 May in Copenhagen. One Grand Prize Winner will be awarded €20,000 in addition to the same professional development benefits and summit participation.
Applications will be evaluated by a jury of leading industry experts, including representatives from Vogue, eBay, the British Fashion Council, and Visa Europe. Author and podcaster Gemma Styles will serve as programme ambassador and jury member. The initiative is open to Europe-based fashion businesses that have been operating for at least one year and demonstrate alignment with circular practices. Shortlisted candidates must be available to attend the Copenhagen summit in May, where they will gain international exposure and networking opportunities within the global fashion ecosystem.
