At the International Association of Horticulture Producers (AIPH) 2022 World Green City Awards 2022 held in Jeju, South Korea on October 14, Hyderabad took home two awards, one in the overall category of “World Green City Award 2022” and another in the category of “Living Green for Economic Recovery and Inclusive Growth.”

Hyderabad is the only Indian city that was chosen, and Telangana and India should be proud of Hyderabad for winning not just the category prize but also the overall “World Green City 2022” award, the best across all 6 categories.

Arvind Kumar, Special Chief Secretary, MA&UD, and the entire Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority team were thanked by Minister for Municipal Administration and Urban Development KT Rama Rao for their accomplishment.

The city’s earning the renowned “International Association of Horticulture Producers” (AIPH) honours was welcomed with joy by Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao.

According to him, Telangana and the nation’s prestige have been further enhanced by these worldwide honours.

In a statement on Friday night, he said that “these foreign accolades are proof that the state administration is strongly implementing the Haritaharam and urban development initiatives… providing green fruits to the country.”

Hyderabad being the only Indian city to be chosen for these international accolades is a source of pride, he continued.
