IAS Trainee Puja Khedkar and Family Face Allegations Amid Controversy

In a developing controversy, Puja Khedkar, a trainee IAS officer of the 2023 batch, and her family are embroiled in a series of allegations and legal troubles. The situation escalated after accusations surfaced that she used fake certificates to secure relaxation in the civil service selection process. Puja Khedkar’s parents, Manorama Khedkar, the sarpanch of a Maharashtra village, and Dilip Khedkar, a retired Maharashtra government officer, are currently facing legal issues of their own.

Manorama Khedkar recently came under scrutiny after a video circulated showing her brandishing a pistol during an argument, leading to a case under the Arms Act. Despite police efforts to locate them, both parents have remained elusive and uncooperative in the ongoing investigations.

Additionally, Puja Khedkar has faced criticism for allegedly demanding unauthorized privileges, including a separate cabin, a car, and residential quarters, despite being on probation as a trainee officer. Her controversial use of a luxury car equipped with a red-blue beacon further fueled public outcry, prompting a probe into her appointment process by the Central Administrative Tribunal. The matter has now escalated with a single-member committee appointed by the Centre to investigate further.

The unfolding saga has raised broader questions about governance and accountability within the civil services and scrutiny over the appointment process and the use of official privileges. As investigations continue, the spotlight remains on Puja Khedkar and her family amidst growing public and administrative scrutiny.
