J&K Police Release Sketches of Terrorists, Offer Rewards for Information
The Jammu and Kashmir Police have released sketches of three terrorists involved in recent attacks in Doda district, including an ambush on July 16 that resulted in the deaths of an army officer and three soldiers in the Urarbagi area of Dessa forest. To aid in their capture, the police have announced a reward of ₹5 lakh for information leading to the arrest of each terrorist.
The suspects are reportedly active in the upper regions of Doda and Dessa. In a bid to encourage public assistance, the police have provided contact numbers for various officers, assuring that the identities of informants will be kept confidential. The information-sharing numbers include those of the Doda SSP, SP (HQ), SP (operations), and other key police personnel.
The attack on July 16 follows a recent surge in terror incidents in Jammu and Kashmir, including an earlier ambush in Kathua’s Badnota village and several attacks on security forces and civilians. The increased violence has heightened concerns in the region, which has also seen significant recent terrorist activity in Kulgam, Bhaderwah, and Reasi.
