Kim Kardashian Faces Criticism for Photo with Ganesha Idol at Ambani Wedding

American reality TV stars Kim Kardashian and Khloe Kardashian attended the wedding festivities of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant in Mumbai from July 12-14. Kim, who donned a white and golden lehenga and choli by Manish Malhotra, shared photos of her stunning outfit on Instagram, captioned, “Diamonds and pearls for the Ambani wedding.” However, one photo, showing Kim posing with a Ganesha idol, sparked controversy and was subsequently deleted from her post.
The now-deleted photo drew criticism on Reddit, with users accusing Kim of using the Ganesha idol as a prop. Comments ranged from disappointment to anger, with one user remarking, “Not Kim using Ganesha as a prop for her trashy photo ops.” Another commented, “That isn’t helping her gain any favors from the Indian audience that she is after. What a dumb$$$.” Despite the backlash, some defended Kim, suggesting she likely removed the photo due to the criticism.
Kim and Khloe’s participation in the multi-day celebrations included embracing traditional Indian attire. They arrived in Mumbai on July 11 and were welcomed with an arti ceremony before taking an autorickshaw ride while filming for their show, “The Kardashians.” Kim’s wardrobe for the festivities featured a glittering red lehenga with sequins, fringe tassels, and intricate beadwork, further highlighting their enthusiastic participation in the cultural event.
