Lancôme Announces Leadership Transition as Vania Lacascade Succeeds Françoise Lehmann
L’Oréal Group has announced a significant leadership change at its flagship luxury beauty brand Lancôme. After more than a decade at the helm, Françoise Lehmann will step down as Global Brand President. Lehmann’s tenure since 2013 has been marked by notable brand evolution, including the launch of bestselling products like the Absolue Longevity Cream and Idôle fragrance, an expansion across skincare, fragrance, and makeup categories, and a strong focus on sustainability initiatives such as the Domaine de la Rose in Grasse.
Stepping into the role is Vania Lacascade, L’Oréal’s current Chief Innovation Officer, who brings extensive experience in global brand strategy and skincare innovation. Lacascade returns to Lancôme after holding senior positions at Vichy, The Body Shop, Garnier, and Givenchy. At Vichy, she was credited with driving double-digit growth, and since early 2023, she has led global innovation efforts at L’Oréal. Her appointment coincides with Lancôme’s milestone 90th anniversary, signaling a new era for the brand.
This transition reflects L’Oréal’s strategic vision to balance Lancôme’s rich heritage with forward-looking innovation in a competitive luxury beauty market. As consumer expectations shift and the beauty landscape becomes more crowded with prestige and indie brands, Lacascade’s leadership is expected to enhance Lancôme’s global appeal, accelerate product development—particularly in skincare—and reinforce its position as a leader in the luxury cosmetics space.
