Lotta Ludwigson and Melina Bucher Launch “Runa” — A Plastic-Free Vegan Luxury Capsule

German slow-fashion label Lotta Ludwigson and vegan luxury bag maker Melina Bucher have teamed up to release “Runa,” a limited-edition capsule collection crafted entirely from Mirum — a 100% bio-based, plastic-free, and biodegradable leather alternative. The collaboration brings together the brands’ shared commitment to conscious luxury, quality craftsmanship, and eliminating waste in fashion.

The partnership emerged after the founders, Charlotte Piller and Melina Bucher, bonded over their mutual interest in circular design and next-gen materials. Following months of brainstorming, sampling, and production meetings at Bucher’s atelier in Mannheim, the made-to-order collection was finalised. Mirum, produced by the U.S. company Natural Fiber Welding, is created using natural rubber, plant oils, waxes, minerals, and pigments, and is known for its fully biodegradable profile and customisable textures.

The Runa capsule features three black pieces — an A-line dress, a pencil skirt, and a vest — priced between 497 and 898 euros and available in sizes XS to XL. Each item is sewn only after an order is placed to prevent overproduction. The collection is now open for pre-order via Lotta Ludwigson’s website (EU and Switzerland) and Melina Bucher’s platform, which also ships to the UK and the US.
