Shah Rukh Khan Faces Controversy at Ambani Pre-Wedding Bash for Comments on Ram Charan
The pre-wedding festivities of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant turned heads not just for their grandeur but also for a controversy involving Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan. Held four months before the wedding, the event saw performances from the three Bollywood Khans – Shah Rukh, Salman, and Aamir – alongside global icons and cinema legends. Amidst the celebrations, Shah Rukh Khan found himself at the center of a controversy following his remarks about South Indian actor Ram Charan during a dance performance.
The incident occurred when Shah Rukh Khan, struggling to master the hook step of the song “Naatu Naatu” from the movie RRR, called out to Ram Charan in a manner that many found disrespectful. The comment, which was intended to invite Charan to join the dance, was criticized for its alleged racial undertones. Ram Charan’s makeup artist, Zeba Hassan, expressed her disappointment on social media, stating that she walked out of the event due to the disrespect shown towards the actor.
The controversy has sparked a broader conversation about the treatment and appreciation of South Indian artists in the entertainment industry. Zeba Hassan, in a statement, highlighted the disparity in respect and compensation between artists from different regions of India, calling for equal recognition for South Indian talent. The incident has overshadowed the otherwise celebratory pre-wedding bash, drawing attention to the need for sensitivity and inclusivity in the entertainment world.
