Guava Beauty, a popular Taiwanese beauty influencer known for her controversial “make-up mukbang” videos where she consumed cosmetic products, has tragically passed away at the age of 24. Known for eating lipsticks, blush, and even cotton pads on camera, her final video featured her tasting a jelly-like blush, which she described as tasting terrible but crispy like agar jelly. The video was captioned, “If you dare recommend it, I dare to eat it.”
Her death was confirmed by her family on 24 May 2025 through a heartfelt social media post, stating she had “put down her brushes” and embarked on “a new journey.” The statement expressed gratitude to her followers and hinted at her enduring struggles, describing her as someone who always persevered through life’s hardships. Her bio had also been updated shortly before her death, reading: “Logging out from the world. Setting off on a new journey. All business collaborations are suspended.”
Although the official cause of death has not been revealed, fans and social media users are speculating that she may have suffered chemical poisoning from consuming cosmetics or a possible heart attack. Concern had been growing around her content, with viewers warning her about the dangers of promoting the ingestion of chemical-laden beauty products. One follower commented, “Please stop this kind of behaviour… These are chemical products. They are not meant to be chewed.”
