PIL Seeks SIT Probe Against Sunita Kejriwal for Alleged Court Proceedings Recording

Advocate Vaibhav Singh has filed a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) in the Delhi High Court, calling for a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to investigate Sunita Kejriwal and others for allegedly recording and posting trial court proceedings involving Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. The petition claims this unauthorized recording, which took place on March 28, violated the Delhi High Court Rules for Video Conferencing for Courts 2021 and jeopardized the safety of the trial court judge.

The plea alleges a conspiracy led by Arvind Kejriwal and his party members to manipulate public sentiment by recording and sharing the court proceedings. It asserts that the recordings were widely disseminated on social media by members of the Aam Aadmi Party and other political parties, immediately following the hearing. The advocate contends that this act was a deliberate attempt to malign and manipulate the judicial process.

The petition underscores that Sunita Kejriwal reposted the audio recordings of the proceedings, which is prohibited under court rules. It warns that such unauthorized recordings can undermine the integrity of judicial proceedings by fostering sensationalism and misinterpretation, and urges the court to take immediate action to uphold the sanctity of the legal process.
