John Lewis Unveils New ‘Made by Care’ Collection with Designer Peter Dyer

John Lewis has unveiled the latest collection in its purpose-led gifting range, ‘Made by Care’, in collaboration with care-experienced designer Peter Dyer. Created exclusively for John Lewis and its sister supermarket Waitrose, the collection celebrates Dyer’s distinctive design approach while supporting individuals who have experienced the care system. The initiative is part of the retailer’s ‘Building Happier Futures’ programme, which aims to help care-experienced people develop skills, confidence and career opportunities.

Born in Holloway Prison, Dyer became a ward of the state before being adopted. Selected from 15 candidates for his distinctive and fluid designs, he has drawn inspiration from the surrounding landscape, exploring how natural forms and human experiences evolve over time. The 16-piece collection features a range of gifting products, including a graphic-print sweatshirt priced at £35, a silk scarf at £49, a hand-painted vase at £15 and a geometric-shaped mug at £9.

As part of the launch, John Lewis has announced a donation of £150,000 and pledged to contribute 25% of the purchase price of every product in the collection to Action for Children charity. The full collection became available online and in John Lewis stores from November 3, with tote bags also scheduled to launch in Waitrose stores during November.
