Adidas Teams Up With Nigeria’s Waf. for First African Superstar ADV Collaboration
Adidas has unveiled its first-ever collaboration with a Nigerian brand and African skate community, partnering with Lagos-based Waf. (Wafflesncream) to launch a special edition of the Superstar ADV sneaker. The collaboration marks a significant milestone for both brands, with pre-sales beginning today ahead of the global release on October 12, 2026.
Inspired by the vibrant spirit of Lagos Island, the sneaker features a dusty grey upper reflecting the city’s industrial landscape and a translucent pink outsole symbolizing the iconic pink evening sky over Lagos. Founded in 2012 by brothers Jomi and Nifemi Marcus-Bello alongside KC Obijiaku, Waf. has played a pioneering role in growing skateboarding culture in Nigeria, blending it with fashion, music, art, and design while establishing Africa’s leading skate community.
Adidas said the partnership celebrates communities shaping global culture and builds on years of support for Waf.’s initiatives, including its annual Go Skate Day event. The Waf. x Adidas Superstar ADV will be available worldwide through Adidas online and selected retail stores from October 12, with an exclusive limited pre-sale currently underway at the Adidas flagship store in Lekki, Lagos.
