Burberry Expands Into Activewear With Heritage-Inspired Collection
Burberry has unveiled its first modern activewear-focused lifestyle collection, marking a significant expansion in the luxury brand’s ongoing turnaround strategy. The new line, titled “Burberry Activewear,” builds on the company’s renewed focus on core categories such as outerwear and scarves, while tapping into the booming global demand for athleisure and performance fashion.
The collection is rooted in Burberry’s long-standing connection to outdoor and sportswear, reflecting the heritage of founder Thomas Burberry. Designed with soft, lightweight fabrics and breathable detailing, the range includes training tops, leggings, jogging pants, hooded jackets, and gilets. Each piece incorporates signature Burberry design elements, including the iconic Burberry Check and a reflective Knight emblem with a motion-inspired gradient finish. The collection is presented in classic tones such as black, beige, carbon grey, and Knight blue.
The launch follows closely behind Burberry’s recent swimwear collaboration with Hunza G, which highlighted innovative materials and introduced a new seahorse motif inspired by the Burberry Knight. Industry observers view the activewear debut as a strategic move aimed at attracting younger consumers and capitalizing on the growing popularity of luxury sportswear beyond traditional fitness settings.
