Nike Re-Entes Lyst Index Top 20 as Functional Fashion Drives Q4 Demand

Nike has returned to the top 20 of the Lyst Index in Q4 2025, ranking 19th and marking its first appearance in two years. The re-entry signals renewed consumer interest following a clearer product strategy and well-timed collaborations during the peak holiday season. According to Lyst CEO Emma McFerran, the quarter reflected a wider industry shift toward recognisable products and functional design, which outperformed trend-driven or experimental fashion. Nike’s turnaround was led by a 27% quarter-over-quarter rise in demand for low-top sneaker silhouettes, indicating shoppers are gravitating back toward familiar, versatile footwear styles.

A key contributor to Nike’s momentum was the continued rollout of its NikeSkims partnership with Skims, blending performance wear with contemporary lifestyle appeal. The collaboration’s second drop generated strong engagement and helped the brand expand its reach among female consumers, while boosting visibility across both performance and fashion-focused channels. Lyst noted that this balance of function and style mirrors a broader consumer preference emerging across the market.

Elsewhere on the Index, US heritage labels showed strong performance. Ralph Lauren climbed to fourth place with a 24% demand increase, driven in part by surging interest in classic, versatile pieces, while Coach held a top-10 spot with steady demand for its core leather goods. At the global luxury end, Saint Laurent retained the number one ranking for a second straight quarter, reflecting stable appetite for investment-led dressing. Product-level data echoed the functional-fashion trend, with record demand spikes for items such as Arc’teryx accessories and viral basics from Parke, underscoring how practical yet stylish designs dominated Q4 consumer interest.
