This achievement also marks the first time the Indian shooting contingent has won three trophies in a single edition of the Olympics.

Kusale’s journey to the podium was marked by intense competition and a stellar performance in the standing position, which saw him move from fifth to third place. His final score surpassed Ukraine’s Serhiy Kulish, who took silver with 461.3 points, while China’s Yukun Liu claimed gold with 463.6 points. Kusale’s achievement highlights his expertise and solidifies his status as a formidable competitor on the global stage.

This bronze medal is part of a historic run for India in shooting at the Paris Olympics. Manu Bhaker won bronze in the women’s 10m air pistol and another bronze in the 10m pistol mixed team event with Sarabjot Singh. Kusale’s success, along with Bhaker’s double medal feat, underscores the remarkable progress and talent of Indian shooters on the international stage.
