Tragic Accident in Uttar Pradesh: 15 Killed as Tractor-Trolley Plunges into Pond

In a heart-wrenching incident in Kasganj district, Uttar Pradesh, a tractor-trolley carrying villagers, predominantly women and children, met with a tragic accident, leading to the death of 15 individuals. The villagers were en route to the Ganges for a holy bath on the occasion of Purnima (full moon) when the driver lost control of the vehicle, attempting to avert a collision with an oncoming car, and subsequently, the tractor-trolley overturned into a mud-laden pond.

The Inspector General of Aligarh range, Shalabh Mathur, confirmed the devastating toll, reporting that the accident claimed the lives of eight children and seven women. The local authorities have since launched a search and rescue operation, striving to assist survivors and recover the victims from the site under the jurisdiction of Patiali police station in Kasganj district.

Expressing deep sorrow over the tragic event, Uttar Pradesh’s Chief Minister, Yogi Adityanath, extended his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families. He has directed Kasganj district officials to ensure the injured receive prompt and comprehensive medical treatment. Additionally, the Chief Minister emphasized the importance of rapid rescue efforts and instructed officials to deploy all necessary resources to support the ongoing operations at the accident site.
