FIR Filed Against Virat Kohli’s One8 Commune and Other MG Road Pubs for Late-Night Operation

Bengaluru police have registered an FIR against Virat Kohli-owned One8 Commune pub and several other establishments on MG Road for operating beyond the permitted closing time of 1 am. According to DCP Central, the pubs were found to be open until 1:30 am, leading to the crackdown. The police action came after receiving numerous complaints about loud music being played late into the night, disturbing the peace of the area.

One8 Commune, situated near the Chinnaswamy cricket stadium, is among the prominent establishments booked for violating the rules. The pub, part of a chain with branches in metro cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Pune, and Kolkata, was launched in Bengaluru in December last year. The investigation is ongoing, and further action will be taken based on the findings, as stated by the police officer.

This incident adds to the previous controversies surrounding One8 Commune. Last year, the Mumbai branch faced backlash after a man from Tamil Nadu claimed he was denied entry for wearing a “veshti,” leaving him “disappointed” and “hurt.” Additionally, the Delhi High Court had restrained the chain from playing songs copyrighted by Phonographic Performance Limited (PPL).
