Skechers Launches First-Ever Cricket Footwear Collection in the UK
Skechers has officially launched its first dedicated cricket footwear collection in the United Kingdom, marking a major step in expanding its performance sports portfolio. The rollout follows the brand’s initial cricket footwear debut in India and introduces its “Skechers Cricket Elite” range to players across all skill levels in the UK. Developed with feedback from elite cricketers and the wider cricketing community, the footwear is designed to address the sport’s specific performance demands, blending comfort, stability, and durability.
Richard Parker, Managing Director of Skechers UK & Ireland, highlighted cricket’s deep roots and growing participation in the UK as a key reason for the expansion, calling it the ideal market to broaden the brand’s cricket presence. He noted that the footwear launch is only the start, with plans to engage more closely with professional English players and local cricket communities. David Weinberg, COO of Skechers, added that although India served as the launchpad for Skechers Cricket, global expansion into other cricket-loving nations—starting with the UK—has always been part of the company’s strategy.
The Skechers Cricket Elite model features 11 adjustable metal spikes for superior traction and stability, a Goodyear rubber outsole for enhanced grip and durability, and lightweight Ultra Go cushioning. Additional comfort and support come from a Skechers Move Foam insole and Arch Fit technology, designed for long hours on the field. Several top Indian cricketers already compete in Skechers footwear, including Jasprit Bumrah, Ishan Kishan, Mohammed Siraj, and Yastika Bhatia. The brand also serves as the official kit sponsor of the Mumbai Indians men’s and women’s teams. The collection is now available at select Skechers retail stores across the UK and online.
