BJP MP Ravi Kishan Slams Shashi Tharoor’s Election Prediction, Forecasts Opposition Defeat

In a fiery exchange of words, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Member of Parliament Ravi Kishan rebuked Congress MP Shashi Tharoor’s recent electoral forecast, asserting that the ruling party will face no difficulty in securing a substantial victory in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. Tharoor had earlier predicted a challenging path for the BJP, suggesting they might struggle to surpass 300 seats due to public discontent over issues like unemployment and inflation. Dismissing Tharoor’s remarks, Kishan disparaged the Congress leader as an “angrez aadmi” (Englishman), accusing him of lacking an intimate understanding of India’s ground realities.

Kishan’s retort came during an interview with news agency PTI, where he confidently predicted the downfall of several opposition parties post-election, asserting that their candidates would forfeit their deposits. Emphasizing the BJP’s commitment to upholding the principles of Babasaheb Ambedkar’s Constitution, Kishan pledged that any victory for the BJP would not result in tampering with the foundational document. Notably, Kishan, who is seeking re-election from Gorakhpur, a stronghold of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath in eastern Uttar Pradesh, had previously contested on a Congress ticket in 2014 before joining the BJP ranks.

As the political rhetoric escalates ahead of the Lok Sabha results slated for June 4, Kishan’s bold assertions reflect the confidence within the BJP camp, while Tharoor’s skepticism underscores the opposition’s determination to challenge the ruling party’s dominance. With the electoral battlefield heating up, the stage is set for a fiercely contested outcome that will shape the political landscape of India in the coming years.
