Concerns Over Arvind Kejriwal’s Health in Custody Spark Allegations of Conspiracy

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has raised serious allegations against the authorities managing Tihar jail, claiming that Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal is being subjected to a “slow death” by being denied essential medical supplies like insulin. Kejriwal, who has been a Type-2 diabetic for over two decades, has reportedly been refused both his medication and the opportunity to consult with his doctor via video conference.

During a press conference, AAP spokesperson Saurabh Bharadwaj presented data showing Kejriwal’s deteriorating blood sugar levels, stressing the grave risks associated with his unmanaged diabetes. Bharadwaj accused the jail administration, the BJP, the Central government, and the Delhi Lieutenant Governor of complicity in denying Kejriwal the necessary medical care, potentially leading to severe health complications.

The situation has escalated with both legal and political ramifications, as Kejriwal’s legal counsel, Senior advocate Abhishek Singhvi, highlighted the chief minister’s adherence to a doctor-approved diet, countering claims by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) that Kejriwal was consuming sugary foods to secure medical bail. The court is set to rule on Monday on Kejriwal’s plea for daily doctor consultations, a decision awaited amidst heightened tensions and concerns over his health and rights as a prisoner.
