Engineer Arrested Over Bomb Threat Post at Anant Ambani’s Wedding
A 32-year-old engineer from Gujarat, identified as Viral Shah, was arrested by the Mumbai police on Tuesday for a social media post suggesting a bomb threat at Anant Ambani’s wedding. The accused was apprehended from his residence in Vadodara by the crime branch.
The threat was posted on social media platform X by user @ffsfir, hinting at potential chaos at the wedding with the statement, “My mind is wondering shamelessly that half the world would go upside down tomorrow after a bomb went off at the Ambani wedding. trillions of dollars in one pin code.” Following the post, security was significantly increased at the event, and an investigation was launched, leading to the tracing and arrest of Shah.
Anant Ambani, the youngest son of industrialist Mukesh Ambani, married Radhika Merchant on July 12 at a grand event at the Jio World Convention Centre in Mumbai. The wedding, which saw attendance from global celebrities, politicians, prominent figures from Hindi and South Indian cinema, and top Indian cricketers, was under tight security following the threat.
