Huma Qureshi transforms into home chef Tarla Dalal for her next

Huma Qureshi is set to star as Tarla Dalal, India’s first-ever home chef, in her upcoming film. On Tuesday, the actor revealed the title of his upcoming film, Tarla. Huma is depicted in a never-before-seen avatar on the poster. It also hints at how the film will be centred on food and recipes. “Tarla Dalal reminds me of my childhood,” Huma Qureshi told.

“I vividly recall my mother attempting her recipes when we were children. “I’m looking forward to meeting this one-of-a-kind character,” she said. “My mom had a copy of her book in the kitchen and would often try many of her recipes for my school tiffin,” Huma continued, describing the role as “awe-inspiring character.” I also recall assisting Mom in the preparation of Tarla’s homemade mango ice cream.”

Piyush Gupta will direct the epic food filler, which is produced by Ronnie Screwvala, Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari, and Nitesh Tiwari.

“Tarla’s story is a lot more than her being an iconic chef,” producer Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari said in a statement about the late chef and her decision to make a film about her life. It’s the story of a working mother who, on her own, changed the face of vegetarian cooking in India and paved the way for many more home cooks and start-ups to follow in her footsteps.”

“Tarla Dalal revolutionised Indian home cooking. Her story is a textbook example of entrepreneurship, demonstrating that it is never too late to pursue your dreams. Ronnie Screwvala said, “I’m very excited and looking forward to working with Ashwiny and Nitesh again.”

Nitesh Tiwari, on the other hand, believes that a biopic about an iconic figure like Tarla Dalal has been long overdue. “Through her story, we hope to inspire many more young people who want to run their own businesses from the comfort of their own homes,” he said.

Piyush Gupta, who has written for films such as Dangal and Chhichhore, will direct the film. “I am ecstatic to have the chance to bring Tarla Dalal’s life to life on screen.” “Being a foodie myself, my goal is to make this film a feast for all foodies,” he explained.

Tarla Dalal was a food writer, chef, cookbook author, and cooking show host from India. In 2007, she became the first Indian to receive the Padma Shri award in the category of culinary skills. The late chef, who was known for her delectable recipes, was an inspiration to all cooks, and her cooking instructions can still be found in every chef’s food pantry.
