Four Indians Arrested in New Jersey Human Trafficking Bust

Earlier this spring, four Indians were arrested in Princeton, New Jersey, on charges of human trafficking. The arrests followed a welfare check on March 13 at a home on the 1000 block of Ginsburg Lane, where authorities discovered a forced labor operation. According to an affidavit, a pest control company inspecting the house reported that “each room… had 3-5 young females sleeping on the floors,” prompting the investigation.

Princeton Police Sgt. Carolyn Crawford revealed that over a dozen people were involved in the scheme, with more than half being victims. The arrested individuals, Chandan Dasireddy, 24, Dwaraka Gunda, 31, Santhosh Katkoori, 31, and Anil Male, 37, were charged with trafficking of persons. The victims, who included both men and women, were reportedly working as programmers, though the nature of the alleged shell companies remains undisclosed. Authorities seized multiple laptops, phones, printers, and fraudulent documents from the scene.

Princeton Police Chief James Waters, who had worked on the case for several months, noted that the investigation uncovered additional forced labor locations in Princeton, Melissa, and McKinney. He stated, “How we came across this situation was very unique,” adding that it led to the discovery of numerous other clues and scenes related to the operation.
