Delhi Minister Atishi Anticipates ED Arrest Amid Political Tensions

Delhi Minister Atishi, in a recent declaration, shared her apprehensions about being targeted by the Enforcement Directorate (ED), following the arrest of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. She highlighted that not only her but other top leaders of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), including Saurabh Bharadwaj, Durgesh Pathak, and Raghav Chadha, might soon face ED raids and subsequent arrests. This assertion comes amid claims that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is aiming to incarcerate leading AAP figures during the ongoing election period.

Atishi expressed concerns over BJP’s alleged strategy to dismantle AAP’s leadership by putting them behind bars, citing a personal approach to join BJP or face arrest as part of the pressure tactics. She recounted being informed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is determined to incarcerate every AAP leader, starting with the recent arrest of Kejriwal. Despite these threats, Atishi affirmed her unwavering support for Kejriwal and the AAP’s cause, stating that the incarceration of AAP leaders would only strengthen their resolve.

The recent developments have stirred significant political discourse, especially in light of Kejriwal’s arrest on March 21 in connection with a liquor probe, and his subsequent judicial custody. Amidst this turmoil, AAP leaders, including Atishi, remain defiant, asserting their solidarity with Kejriwal and refuting any claims of internal discord as demonstrated by Bharadwaj’s clarification regarding social media rumors. The situation continues to evolve as the AAP braces for potential ED actions, while maintaining its stance against the BJP’s maneuvers.
